ASME Graduate Student Video Competition

What is the ASME Graduate Student Video Competition & Prizes

Like all professionals, engineers must possess a well-developed ability to synthesize issues and communicate effectively to diverse audiences. Often it is necessary to communicate details of advanced technical subjects in an understandable fashion to the general public, media, political leaders, regulators, industry leaders and others who may not be as familiar with the technology and related terminology as those who are studying and working in a particular field.

This competition challenge is for a student currently in an engineering Masters, hybrid Master’s program with concentration in engineering (or similar), post-graduate student pursuing advanced degree in engineering, or Ph.D. program to prepare and deliver a video presentation dealing with a research project or other advanced technical field at the engineering Masters or Ph.D. level. The emphasis is on being understandable and holding the attention of an audience such as first-year undergraduate engineering students who may have only vague familiarity with the subject.
